We used up all of our 14 lbs. that we ordered. Great quality, we live in Texas but grew up in northern Nevada and collected pine nuts on the same mountain area that you get these from. We love them. For 50 years I\\\'ve had them, thank you for making them available for us down here.

I have been buying pine nuts from this seller for many years, If you have ever picked pine nuts, you know its back breaking work. There is an area called Mt Pinos, where we used to pick in California. The cost may seem high but is actually very cheap, Here's the breakdown drive 2 hrs each way, spend $80 in fuel, 4-5 hrs picking yields about 15 lbs on good years. Most people less than 5 lbs, then spend the next week with a sore back. Its a great outing if you have kids but a lot of work. So after fuel cost $131-$80 fuel = $51 divided by 14 lbs =$3.64 per pound, Trust me, when I tell you these nuts @ $3.64 lb are a steal. These are absolutely premium pine nuts and cannot be matched. The only business I've found that actually sells a premium product at a more than reasonable price. Thank You Wholesalepinenuts

I've been buying pine nuts for a bazillion years locally in the grocery stores but just this year discovered your site. What an amazing improvement over the puny grocery store variety! I couldn't believe how big your pine nuts were! Living in Reno, NV, I would have thought they'd be best here and available but they're not. They flew out of the grocery stores way before Thanksgiving. So, my question is this...being as I'm no longer going to get them at the grocery but order them from you instead, will you be sending out notices each Fall when they become available? I joined your mailing list so that's what I'm hoping for. I sent some to my best friend who moved to California and can no longer get them. This Fall, I'm going to order the BIG bag! I'm so looking forward to not having to worry about finding them at the right time and then getting enough. It's going to be so much easer to order them from you. I hope the crops continue to be productive and you can keep up with the supply and demand. Thanks for all your hard work! I know I hate getting covered in pitch! :o)

I am so glad I found your site. I've been buying pine nuts locally (Reno/Sparks) for many years and have been subjected to wild prices. Your pine nuts are HUGE compared to the puny ones from the grocery store. They've been so tasty, too. I ordered a bag for my friend who moved to California and she's already gone through all of hers to my half. I'm ordering them from here from now on. I can't wait to get them again in the Fall of 2016. Be sure to send me an email when they come in as I've signed up for the mailing list.

Received the Nevada soft shell jumbo pine nuts yesterday, opened the package when I got home and roasted a few to see how they were…..and they were delicious! I was skeptical as to whether or not they would be a bit dry since it was so late in the season, but I was pleasantly surprised. I am giving the nuts as gifts for  in 1 and 2 pound packages, so I’m thankful they are as delicious as your website claimed!! I’m sure I will be ordering from you again next year.

As promised here is the way I dry my pine nuts, have tried skillet and oven, but did not care for the taste, my way is with a dehydrator(American harvester)and I have 30 trays collected throughout the years. Don't crowd the seeds, set dehydrator at 130 degrees for about 6/8 hours depends on out side temperature, I do mine enclosed patio. Turn off and let set until cool and then test for doneness, I turn dehydrator on again at 125 degrees for about 4/5 hours and test again. Please!, do not over dry nuts, remember to let nuts cool to test and taste and ENJOY.

Fabulous, big, tasty pine nuts! When I opened my box, I had a huge treat awaiting me! I love, love, love that the nuts were in a burlap sack. Here's the story: I grew up in Reno, Nevada, and each year our family would go out to harvest our Christmas tree (always a pinyon) and then we'd gather pine nuts. My dad had some burlap sacks that we'd put our nut harvest into. By the end of the day, all of us were covered with pitch. We'd pile into the car, and on the way back into Reno, we'd stop at some hot springs right next to the highway. Dad would lower the sacks of pine nuts into shallow vents to steam off the pitch. The rest of the way home, we'd munch on hot pine nuts, completely blissed out on life. Dad died a few months ago, so the sight of that burlap sack of pine nuts filled me with emotion and happy memories. Thanks for that, and for the gorgeous pine nuts!

Dear uh You,
The Nevada Soft Shell Pine Nuts are surely gifts from Heaven!

Nothing from McDonalds' or Ben and Jerry's comes even close to the delightful taste and texture of these delightful nuts. It is sad to know that most Americans know little about Pine Nuts (or politics, for that matter!) Maybe 200 years ago, people here were smarter than today. Back then, people knew what they were eating and they knew what they were electing.

Dear Potential Customer, please don't believe my words or any of the advertising. Don't believe Clinton, Trump, Sanders, Rubio, Carson, Bush or any of the others. CHECK IT FOR YOURSELF!

Pine Nuts remind me of the very basics of the USA, somehow, right back to the Old Days. These Pine Nuts are not the awful "bad taste" pine nuts from some discount or pirate stores. These are not from Peking's scrap yard, they are from genuine trees in the USA!

You will love these nuts. If you do not, please send some to Sanders and Clinton. Maybe it will help them to think.

Love you.
Anh

ODE TO A PINE NUT (With Gratitude)

Lowly fruit of the pinon tree,
Scarce, yet paradoxically free,
Once a staple for savages out in the West,
Gathering now is a recreational quest.
High in calories with a mild, wild taste,
Always guaranteed; they won’t go to your waist.
The effort required to prepare this fine feast,
Its calories will use up, in total, at least.
Addictive? Yes, and dangerous too;
Those requiring two hands, are none too few.
Though it’s painful, I know, to throw some away,
When snacking and driving, you’ll live through the day.
Received as gifts, they have magical powers
To calm nerves and give pleasure for hours and hours;
And back to the giver, automatically sent,
Good wishes and gratitude, we freely give vent.
(And though I tempt Satan and to hell might be sent,
I will not, I cannot, from pine nuts repent).

These nuts are almost TOO GOOD! Incredible!

We have tasted pine nuts from many places. These are The Best by far! (Those from China were the worst. Some other U.S. vendors sell stuff that tastes several years old. One U.S. vendor took my money and never sent anything. Nuts from a Middle Eastern vendor were really good but much more expensive.)

This company is easily one of the most Friendly vendors on the Internet! They make the words "customer service" actually mean something!

Yayyyyyyy! What a great company, great people, incredible products!

I have not been able to get the pine nuts yet (as I am new to the waiting list and Pinion harvest has been poor) but the hydrosols and oil I have gotten are ABSOLUTELY amazing! I have talked and shared about them with several other people. I fell in love with the plum blossom scent but it is the witchazel that has stolen my heart! Such a fragrance! No other witchazel anywhere or have had has ever smelled as intoxicatingly fresh and beautiful! Wished there was a whichazel essential oil from it.

So 6 shipments of nevada nuts to our nutty family! Used to go out and pick our own outside of Carson City, Nevada. Good memories with the family but oh what a sticky mess! I had never thought of ordering online because I have always gotten mine locally from Trader Jo's in Ca. This year my son-in law and I have been getting ill from produce as never before and discovered that each time we were sick, there were ingredients that came from China...as do all of the Pine Nuts found here locally. China uses heavy pesticides that a not allowed in the U.S., but we are eating them when the food comes from China. As soon as no longer purchased food grown in China...no more problems. But what to do about our great love and use of Pine Nuts? WholeSale PineNuts is our answer and will continue to be. BEST of all as close to ORGANIC as can be had. GREAT taste, GREAT, helpful, real people answering questions on the phone and SUPER customer service. What more could one ask for...nothing!

We have been very satisfied and get 12 pounds per year. They added the Free pound after we ordered prior to the special and sent us an extra pound for some small mix up the first year. They didn't have to do this but it shows how honest and professional Wholesale Pinenuts are and how much the value your business. I can't imagine Christmas time without any Jumbo Nevada's to enjoy. This year's crop is great! Best online retailer with fast shipping and fare e-mail warnings when supplies are low. We pre-order for next year and never have to worry. A++++++ supplier.

I ordered for the first time last year for a special Christmas present for my elderly father. The look on his face was Priceless when he opened the burlap bag of pinenuts on Christmas morning. He grew up in Eastern Nevada eating plenty of pinenuts. Then when I grew up in Western Nevada, I went on many pinenuts picking trips with my dad and family and friends so I know the process of collecting these wonderful morsels of nature. I can recommend your pinenuts and think they are as perfect as Nevada pinenuts can get! We enjoyed our first and then second order last year (2013)....plus I ordered more for this year. Thanks for your service and pinenuts!

Pine nuts and piñon's are from two different kind of trees.
Pine nuts is from pine trees. Shells are soft and seeds are bigger.
Piñon's is from evergreen trees. Piñon seeds are small and have hard shells. Piñon's are so good roasted in cast iron skillet.
A notch up add salt to piñon's. That is

I am no longer purchase pinion nuts because you don't sell them roasted. I have purchased New Mexico hard shells before and they have always been roasted. When I have roasted the raw ones myself they always were burned and overlooked which meant I had to throw them away-what a waste!!!!!!! I have always eaten roasted pinions now I'm deprived of this pleasure!!!!

The nuts are very delicious, soft shelled. What a fun, healthy snack for the whole family. These nuts are young, they don't contain nearly the same amount of fat as the shelled ones you can buy at the store. These folks are a pleasure to deal with-a couple of years back I had questions for them and they communicated very well with me. I bought a 12 lb bag and we brought the nuts all the way to Singapore-our second home. :)
Thank you!

Just wondering where your wonderful pine nuts are harvested. I noticed some are listed as Nevada pine nuts and others as New Mexican pinyon nuts. But your address is Salt Lake City Utah. Do you harvest from private or public lands? Does one need a permit to collect nuts on BLM on National Forest land?
Just curious. My sister sent me a bag for Xmas which arrived in Canada on Jan 15. I followed the stove top method with salting. They are delicious, just as I remember from childhood. Many thanks!! Tim Myles, Guelph, Ontario

This is my first order and I am anxious to receive it. I was born in southern Utah and learned to really enjoy pinenuts there. We harvested them a few times when I was a child. I have worked as a dentist in remote villages in northeast Alaska. While there I became friends with a Russian Surgeon whose eyes lit up when I offered him some pinenuts from Utah. He then told me he had also eaten them as a youth growing up in Siberia. We both consider pinenuts a special treat so I will surprise him with some for the Holidays. In fact, if you want to increase my order with a 1 to 1 1/2 pound size then I weill forward that to him. He will be delighted! Call me if you need further verification to this increased order. I grew up in Utah, I remember going camping every fall, we would gather pine nuts while the men hunted. You have no idea how much effort it takes to get these tasty nuts harvested. I ordered 12lbs yesterday and can't wait for them to get here. I have been looking for fresh, raw pinenuts. I called to ask a few questions, the man was very professional & knowledgable.

if you have ever gone out to gather your own pine nuts then you can appreciate the effort it takes to get them from the tree to your table, these are the real deal , clean and not much pitch , 99% good nuts. i am going to purchase another 12 pounds tomorrow and hope they have enough for my order! if you have never got your own from the tree, try adding $60 for gas (or more) another 30 for hand cleaner another 30 for gloves another 40 for tarps and various implements to gather them and not to mention various things to remove pitch from places you didnt know pitch could get and well you get my drift - these are a good deal, and good for you to boot !!!

My 85 year old father has eaten pine nuts for as long as I can remember and now he can't find the ones he has always eaten and I don't know enough about pine nuts to even order any. He has always eaten white pine nuts in the shells. I know because of all the shells that were always around. Can you give me any help on what to order? He can not roast them and never has, so that is why I am confused. He just bought packages opened and ate.
Thank you so much in advance.

Hi! My Cockatoo, Popcorn, is having withdrawals since he can not have his favorite snack, Pine Nuts. Just realized today why & your site was wonderful in educating as to the differences (had no idea there were different types!). Now I know how my Dad was able to crack the shells so easily when I was a kid! Anyway, obviously my bird was eating the New Mexico style, I guess? I attempted to feed him ( the bird, not my Dad!) shelled as a last ditch effort & all he does is look at me like I'm crazy & toss them to the cage bottom. Do I HAVE to roast the style you have in stock? Will he like these as well as the hard shell & any idea when the harvest will deliver on the kind we desire? Also, appreciate the education on storage..it's no wonder we had SO MUCH loss. All I did was refrig large qty in Tupperware as one of your competitor's directed. This resulted in hollow & rotten shells in some 50% of my stock!
Thanks in advance
Lynn

Please order the small pack and see if your pet will like them. Don't know your pet you can try them both ways roasted and raw. Is a good possibility your pet will like the Nevada soft shell pine nuts. Please be aware if he likes them he may demand large amounts of them. And if you don't give them to him he will take it out on you in he's own way.

Just received my 1st load of soft shell pinenuts for 2014, Premium size, fresh like they just fell out of the tree. As a kid, our family used to pick pinenuts in the fall. I remember how much work they were but always worth it. Now I justify the cost by $100 in fuel to get there, then pick 13 lbs for $30 labor. Save your back, the drive, just but them here and enjoy eating them.

I am so glad to finally locate this site/company last year. I love pine nuts and could never get them without having to pay ridiculous prices in the grocery store. The preorder is great and I have personally picked pinon with my family.... what a chore. The value of labor here is to be treasured, its hard, hard, hard work. The price seems super high, but the labor is tough. If you love pinon the price is well worth it.

Hi, So glad to see pine nuts on line. Saved me a trip over the pass to Reno.
Will my order arrive by Xmas?. I ordered today 12/19/13 and it is going to Seattle Washington.
My son is half Paiute and we spent many happy hours gathering pine nuts around Virginia City and Austin , Nevada. My son is 50 now so I always get him pine nuts at the holidays to bring back the smells and memories. We roast them in a pan with salt and it smells wonderful. Thanks for making it possible for me to continue the tradition. Blessings to you this holiday. Victoria

Have received the 12-lb. bag of Nevada Pine Nuts...they are magnificent. You are absolutely right about any New Mexico piñon nuts being sold this year...I bought some on a recent trip to New Mexico, and they HAD to be from the 2012 crop. Your pinons are so fresh, that they are not only raw, but also green. Have spread them out in a lg. shallow box to dry a bit. How long, if stored at 65-to-75 F., should it take to dry them out? Also should they be dried BEFORE freezing in vacuum-sealed bags?

Is it possible to place a standing order for 12 lbs. new-crop Nevada pinons, beginning in 2014? I am also interested in ordering New Mexico pinons next year, as well.

Unfortunately there is not much we can do about what plagues this best of natures foods but I hope they are around forever! I look forward to the fall every year so I can buy this great snack. I have enjoyed them since childhood and hope they are around for many more years. I hope someone continues this tradition and save this resource.

If these are the same pine nuts I've been buying at St. George, they are the best I've EVER had, and I've had tons of pinenuts in my lifetime. My boyfriend and I bought almost all of the stock from last year that was sold at that gas station. They are even better this year, if that is possible. Don't tell anyone I said this, as I am selfish and want these pinenuts all to myself. Ok, I might share a few, but not tooo many, LOL.

Grew up in Reno, Nevada and would gather the pine nuts whenever they were in season near Virgina City. Now that I live in California I think it is so awesome that I have a resource to order from. Just place in a cast iron skillet over med heat and stir occasionally until you hear the first one pop. Place between two tea towels on cutting board and place another board on top and roll back and forth to shell them. They also make the house smell amazing. I also was born in Santa Fe New Mexico and although the hard shell nuts are smaller and sweeter the Nevada pine nuts have a superior flavour

We don't market online sales of pine nuts as USDA organic certified pine nuts we only sale them as wiled grown all natural pine nuts the reasons are too many to explain In short phrase. Please feel confident with our product being natural as nature created them in a wild in a very remote areas of our country mostly in public lands they are as good as good can get and natural as nature can get. This products we offer are all grown this way none of our product come from cultivated farms so it makes our products very unique and all natural.

Question? American Pine nuts you market on your website have the same nutritional health benefits has imported foreign pine nuts, like the european type from Spain, Italy, Turkey, Mid Eastern and the Siberian Russian, Asian Chinese, Korean and other or is it a better product in regards to nutritional value in pine nuts, when I Buy and consume pine nuts I love the flavor it brings out in pesto, pignoli cookies and simple snacks. I never tried American Shelled, unshelled or in shell Nevada jumbo pine nuts nor New Mexico pinon nuts I am glad i found your website your products look very attractive and have a much better price than other online sales for domestic USA pine nuts products your website name reflects your prices very well no like others that used the name wholesale pine nuts but there price is very much retail not a bulk wholesale price sales of pine nuts. Hi Loretta, Very good question. No the taste is not the same. But when roasted they can taste significantly similar at times The Nevada Pine Nuts are actually a soft shell variety, while the New Mexico Piñon have a more harder shell, about 3 times as hard, although it can still be cracked fairly easy with good teeth. Now, the taste differs wherein the New Mexico has more of an oil based per mass compared to the Nevada. The New Mexico Piñon are sweet and creamy, while the Nevada have a unique sweet delicious taste being more water based. Now, there is a difference in size from actual regular size Nevada Soft Shell Pine Nuts and Jumbo Nevada Pine Nuts, but the taste is known to be the same. I should also mention that the Nevada regular pine nuts are between 2-3x’s more larger than the New Mexico Piñon, while the Nevada Jumbo Pine Nuts are on average double the size (thick and length as the regular Nevada Pine Nuts.

Hi Gina, As far as we know there are around 32 edible species or variety's of seeds from pine trees, called "pine nuts" that are found around the world. Of these 32 Pine Seeds or Pine Nuts ALL of them can be consumed RAW! However, it is the preference of the consumer if they want them raw or roasted. Some people claim that they cannot eat raw pine nuts because it upsets there stomach, however this is a little far out reached claim, mainly because since pine nuts are extremely good at cleaning the colon (good for weight loss), certain individual may experience symptoms similar to a cleanse, for which an upset stomach appears to be the results, when in really he stomach is not quite upset, it is actually working better. Happy snacking!!! You can find roasting instructions on our roasting page found above on our main menu.

I LOVE pine nuts! I love them sprinkled on salads. I love them roasted and sprinkled on steamed or sauteed vegetables, ie: asparagus, spinach, broccoli.

I love to cook Capellini Al Dente, then toss in slivered fresh basil, freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano with a drizzle of olive oil and roasted pine nuts on top.

Sometimes I just munch on the nuts, unroasted freshly shelled one at a time, or freshly roasted. When I was a little girl my mother said they were a special treat and very expensive...so today, I consider them "gold" in the food family.

It is one of the smells that always reminds family of Christmas and good times! They are delicious when shelled and used to make pesto sauce, Put 1/2 c pine nuts; 1 c basil;1/3 c good olive oil and 1/4 c grated Parmesan cheese and blend til smooth. They are delicious sprinkled in a salad or on pasta dishes. You can also put some in your meatballs when mixing in the meat. Great in pistachio pudding or on ice cream!! Your soft in shell pine nuts are the very favorite food for our Eclectus parrots. The hard shell pine nuts are too hard for their beaks and most parrot mixes come with hard shell pine nuts. I mix the soft shell ones in with their dry food mix and they pick them right out and eat them first. I wish you could sell them to Goldenfeast.

One of the best ways I enjoy pinenuts is in a dumpling yes it is a very old way to cook these, there are not too many that still make these or know how, you mix mincemeat with raisins and pinenuts, or any other nuts and they are super good. They are an old traditional food here in the southwest, in beautiful New Mexico.

My beloved aunt Dee got me hooked on pine nuts before she died. I make salads with mixed greens, green onions, celery, mushrooms, bell peppers, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, broccoli, cauliflower, assorted fruits such as blue berries, strawberries, apples, peaches, grapes, pineapple, mango, mandarins, sugar snap or snow peas, homemade croutons, any shredded cheese. Pick 2-3 of the fruits for the salad. Add your nuts. I use a mix of nuts, pine nuts, walnuts, cashews, almonds, pecans. Top with a fruit based dressing such as raspberry vinaigrette, pomegranate vinaigrette, sesame ginger or Italian dressing. Makes a great salad for special occasions or a treat for your family. Serve with hot garlic bread and you have a complete meal. I always get tons of compliments, requests for recipe and fights for leftovers, if any. I also have 3 large parrots that absolutely love the in shell pine nuts, slightly warmed in microwave for 15-20 secs. Now my poodle is stealing pinenuts from the birds. I guess I just Have a Nutty house. Keep eating nuts, a healthy tasty natural food.

I grew up in the Southwest, South Central CO. As a youth we would harvest pinon, sometime gathering hundreds of pounds. I still remember standing next to the 100 pound bags and filling my pockets with fresh pinon. We ate it raw and toasted. In school it was a restricted commodity because we would be busy cracking pinon and leaving the shells piled inside the desks. I remember having to go to the principles office for cracking pinon in class. I now live in Maryland and thank goodness for Wholesale PineNuts, I can still enjoy the great flavor of roasted pinon. The pinon is as tasty as ever. It has such a rich creamy even sweet flavor that has to be experienced. It is very delicious but yet a wonderful indescribable flavor. If I would have to place the pinon flavor on a scale from one to ten it would rate some where in the +20. My lady friend is striving to get fat from eating pinon! ^_^ It takes some real skill to eat them fast. ECR smiling with very white wrinkled fingers.

I have eaten pine nuts all of my life and yours are the best! Once roasted, they have a deep rich flavor; but they are even tasty unroasted. I was very impressed with how large the Nevada pine nuts are. Your prices are reasonable. I roast them in the oven and serve them as snack..In a blender: 1/4 c good olive oil; 1/2 c unshelled pine nuts, 1 c chopped fresh basil and 1/4 c Parmesan cheese. Blend til smooth and you will have delicious pesto. I fold 1/4 cup of unshelled pine nuts into my meatball recipe and cook as usual, This gives the a distinctive delicious flavor.

You guys do a wonderful job - pine nuts are real treasure of the Southwest. Please understand that your industry has been rocked by one of the greatest droughts in recorded history that has killed most of the pinyon in the Four Corners area. Obviously, ample trees exist to continue providing nuts, but the public needs to know the extent and most importantly, the cause of this die-off. Climate change is squarely to blame as is easily discovered by a few minutes of Googling. Furthermore, the Pinyon forests of the southwest could possibly be the forests most at risks because of continued, growing and accelerating climate changes. The decreasing length of winter is the most important change - summer's heat has more than four times more evaporative capacity than winter. So just a little lengthening of the summer season means a whole lot more drying. Even good snow years can see continued drought conditions. I specialize in forest systems impacts of climate change. I want to order the Pine Nuts in-the-shell that were once called "Indian Nuts"--the shells are a vanilla color, and must be opened using your teeth! But surely not a nut-cracker. Do you carry these? If so, I want to order immediately, so I can get in before you go on Vacation, next week.
Thanks, Karen
P.S. I will try to call you tomorrow (Sat., 6-19-10) as you are already closed tonight.

I only want to say that your product is the best that I have experienced yet. The pine nuts are so fresh and very tasty. I was truly amazed to see that they are so large. I've never had such large pine nuts; they got a lot of meat to them. They are a real pleasure when used as snacks while watching my favorite TV shows or a movie which is a lot healthy for me then chips. I want to thank you for keeping the price affordable, especially during this economic time. I share my content with your product with all my friends and family, and I have even given some away as gifts. I look forward to enjoying your pine nuts in the future.

Delicious, Jumbo size and a Great Price! I was fortunate to come across your web site when I was in search of pine nuts; they are impossible to find in any of the local stores. When the first shipment arrived, both my husband and I were pleasantly surprised at the large size and freshness of these nuts. They also arrived in record time with free shipping. These pine nuts are the best that I have ever tasted; I can't get enough of them! I have tried both the roasted and the raw pine nuts and they are both equally delicious. Anyone that orders will not be disappointed. Be prepared to reorder!

I tried the raw, shelled version. I've never found this option available anywhere else. They were superb and I roasted them within 2 hours of receiving my shipment in the mail. Delightful result. Exceeded my expectations.

These are just wonderful:, fresh, crisp, sweet, and easily opened. I bought a bunch for my spoiled parrots then had to order more for myself when they wouldn't share.

What a great product! Very fresh and quick delivery. Reminds me of my boyhood harvesting pinons with my father in the Big Bear area.
